Constant standing water, chlorine, sunscreen, bare feet and freeze-thaw cycles will take apart a coating that was never built for it. Chippewa Valley Floor Coatings installs aquatic-rated systems from manufacturers who build specifically for pools and water parks — and we prep the surface the way the manufacturer requires, not the way that gets us off the job fastest. Most of what we get called in to fix is somebody else's paint over an unprepped deck.

Why the prep matters more than the paint

• Shot blasting, not just pressure washing. Pressure washing gets a deck clean. It does not give the new coating a profile to bite into. We shot blast to the profile the manufacturer's data sheet calls for.

• Moisture testing before we coat. Concrete that is pushing vapor will blister a coating from underneath. We test slab moisture before committing to a system.

• Texture is engineered, not accidental. Slip resistance on a wet deck is a number, not an opinion. We build the system to hit a wet slip rating and we can show you the data sheet that backs it.

• Manufacturer-spec systems. We install aquatic products from manufacturers who support the job with written specs and technical reps — so if there's ever a question, there's a paper trail.

Built around your closure window

Most pools cannot close for two weeks. We phase the work in sections so part of your deck stays open while we work the rest, and we schedule around your slow days. Heat, high-velocity air movement and dehumidification let us compress cure times without cutting them short. Tell us your reopening deadline and we'll build the schedule backward from it.
